Moved from blogger

Written by alejo on February 26th, 2007

So, here I am. This blog is based on another blogging system, much more versatile and equally easy to use. As you can see on my previous post, the style of the images I’m uploading is different, this converts an image of 200k into an image around 20k, which is a great deeal for users without broadband connection.

The only problem with the migration were the comments, I was unable to migrate them to the new blog… and it’s obvious that the new style of boards might not be as nice, but it is exactly as good as the old one when it turns into a go situation.

We’ll have to wait for the old posts to dissappear in order to check the speed increase; on the meanwhile, I’ll just tell you that the whole board image fromo my previous post occupied 140k on blogger, now its size is only 22k.
There is one more thing: old posts are a bit messy, their alignement has been missed and I’ll have to fix a few things, but they are still as useful as they were two weeks ago.

I really don´t know what blog do I prefer… I think each one has their good and bad points. I think that, if this blog can have a bigger font, it will be great, since It is a little har to read comfortably some things. And a little of colour too, but this point it is not so important as the first one. :)

Anyway, I think this is a good idea from your point of view because of You have more options to personalize the blog so it can fit to your wishes :)

Hi again!

Do you think it would be better to use bigger fonts on the sidebar? (archives, proverbs and so on)

I could try adding some colour, but that would mean modifying an CSS file, which is not something I usually deal with.

Wow!!! This comment colour is really horrible… let’s go to the CSS file…

If you want to, I could try to help you with the CSS matter ^^
About the fonts, I think , trully, You should draw bigger ones on the right side bar, at least 2 or 4 px, and 2px on the blog posts….

Wow, now I see, you changed it all!! Now Is much much better, all the blog can be read easyly :)

Now, that’s it, I’ve modified the banner at the top, the size of the sidebar and the comment form size…

Um… css isn’t as difficult as I expected… it just takes a couple of minutes to figure out how it works… It is very easy to manipulate, though I think I wouldn’t be able to write it entirely on my own.

Well, what do you think now?

I think it is pretty much better now! And the banner image has a cool efect of “camera objective” so, depending on the way you look at it, the “hole” seems igger or smaller =^_^= I like it.

Well, the font of the comment text box ( this one on the comments form) keeps being small, but I think this one is not relevant for the reading issue, so all is ok for me now.

This blog is surely much faster and enjoyable than the last one.

I saw a karma text on each blog entry than made me laugh ^^ It is as a vote rating?

As you see, I come as a devoted reader of your blog ^^ Keep your great “job”.

Yes, that “karm” thing is a vote rating… yes, I laughed at it too!!!

I guess I should modify it somewhere… but I don’t really know where.

I’ve had some internet connection problems, so that why I didnt post anything..
